Pregnant and Parenting Teen Programs (formerly CalSAFE)

In the Spring 2009, CalSAFE became a Tier III program. MCOE remains committed to provide educational support to teen parents in Mendocino County. Despite the ability to flex these funds to other programs, the Board decided to keep those funds dedicated to teen parents and their children. MCOE currently runs the Young Parent Program at Ukiah High School and allocates monies for support services to two other districts in the county based on 08-09 contracts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to enroll?
A male or female student, 18 years or younger, may enroll in the Young Parent Program if he or she is an expectant parent by contacting Susan McConnell 467-5141. The student can also be the custodial parent, or the non-custodial parent taking an active role in the care and supervision of the child and has not earned a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Pregnancy Prevention DVD 

"Mommy, Daddy, Wait for Me" is the title of the new teen pregnancy prevention DVD that will be distributed to all schools and agencies in Mendocino County. The Teacher's Resource Guide is now available.
