Reframe the Past Year of Disrupting with Primary Sources
We have just lived through a historic year: The 2020 election and January 6th insurrection, the summer of protest against police killings of Black people, the Covid-19 Pandemic, and of course a year of remote education. What does this moment demand of history instruction? How can we help students make sense and move forward from the last year?
In this series, we will use primary sources, both contemporary and historic, to inspire students to make connections with the past and meet their emotional and academic needs as they return to school.
This program is a partnership between the UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project and the Mendocino County Office of Education and is funded through a grant from the TPS Western Regional Program. Please join us!
