Nicole H. Glentzer
Mendocino County Superintendent of Schools
Goals & Priorities
Superintendent Glentzer's vision for Mendocino County education focuses on four key strategic priorities. These priorities reflect her commitment to serving as a bridge builder—connecting districts, communities, and education partners to create a unified system that supports more than 12,000 PK–12 students across the county.
Advancing Student Success Across Mendocino County
Ensuring every child has access to a learning experience that allows them to thrive by providing schools and educators with the professional development, guidance, and fiscal oversight needed for success. This priority reflects MCOE’s mission to build capacity through leadership, resources, and services that improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all students.
Supporting District Leadership Excellence
Providing school district superintendents with the resources, guidance, and support they need to be successful in their critical roles. This includes facilitating professional development opportunities, sharing best practices, and ensuring access to essential tools and information.
Building Effective District Governance
Working collaboratively with superintendents and boards of education to strengthen governance practices that promote student success, fiscal responsibility, and community trust. This includes clarifying roles, fostering open communication, and supporting the development of governance structures that serve students effectively.
Championing Rural Schools and Equitable Access
Advocating for the unique needs of small and rural districts at the local and state levels to ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities. Through active participation in advisory councils, policy committees, and professional associations, this work amplifies the voices of rural educators and strengthens the entire education ecosystem.
"Every decision we make, every program we develop, and every partnership we build must ultimately answer one question: How does this support our students in reaching their full potential? That's the lens through which I view my role as Superintendent."
