Our Educational Services Division is committed to providing exceptional support to students with unique needs while empowering local school districts through specialized resources and expertise.
We believe every student deserves access to high-quality education tailored to their individual needs. Through direct student services, curriculum development, professional development, and regulatory guidance, we strive to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment across Mendocino County.
Our division serves as both a direct service provider for our most vulnerable student populations and as a collaborative partner with local education agencies, helping them deliver cost-effective, high-quality educational services throughout our community.
Accountability & Assessment
MCOE partners with districts and schools to fulfill federal and state accountability requirements and legal settlements in public education.
Career & College Programs
The Career and College Readiness Department supports schools and students across Mendocino County by connecting them with resources for academic and career skill development.
Early Education & Care
The Early Education & Care Department operates 17 State Preschool locations, coaches center-based programs, and offers professional development for all early childhood educators.
Expanded Learning
The Expanded Learning department supports afterschool and summer programs that provide students with engaging opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Foster & Homeless Youth
The Foster and Homeless Youth Services program strengthens district efforts to improve educational outcomes for students experiencing homelessness or living in foster care.
Learning & Enrichment
The Learning & Enrichment Department supports a thriving educational community by promoting educator growth through mentoring, coaching, and collaboration, with a focus on inclusive practices.
MCOE School Programs
MCOE provides student-centered programs with additional support for youth who benefit from specialized learning environments, helping them stay engaged in their education and prepared for life after school.
Professional Development
Our professional development hub provides access to a variety of professional learning opportunities designed to empower teachers, administrators, and educational staff with the latest strategies, tools, and resources.
SELPA
The mission of the Mendocino County SELPA is to support special education students in achieving a high level of academic/functional performance according to national, state, and local standards.
Special Education
The Special Education Department offers specialized instructional services for children ages birth to 22 who have physical, emotional, or cognitive support needs.
Student Services & Wellness
The Student Services and Wellness Department provides resources and guidance in areas such as attendance, mental health, school climate, and student well-being.
