SPARK Saturdays: Igniting Learning in Math, Science, and Computer Science

Spark flier details in the blog post

This fall and winter, MCOE is hosting SPARK Saturdays, a full-day workshop series designed to ignite learning through effective pedagogical practices that support high-quality instruction in Mathematics, Science, and Computer Science.

With a particular focus on grades 2–8 (but open to all K–12 educators), these sessions offer practical strategies for creating engaging, rigorous, and integrated learning experiences.

Educators can choose from two locations:

  • Inland at MCOE in Ukiah: October 4 and January 31
  • Coast at Fort Bragg High School: September 27 and January 24

Day One explores multidisciplinary practices that promote coherence and deeper learning across content areas. Day Two brings a transdisciplinary approach in action, using Micro:bits to spark hands-on, integrated learning.

Participation stipends are available for those who register by the deadlines: September 10 for the Coast sessions and September 20 for Inland sessions.
