CalPERS Business Rules, Advanced Compensation, and Advanced Membership Training

Mendocino County Office of Education will host a CalPERS Business Rules, Advanced Compensation, and Advanced Membership Training on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Southeast Room at 2240 Old River Road, Ukiah.

This full-day session is designed for staff who work in Payroll, Membership, or Human Resources, as well as anyone looking to deepen their understanding of CalPERS business rules. Participants will gain a holistic view of how to conduct business with CalPERS while following California’s current laws and regulations.

The workshop will explore key areas that impact school employers, including:

  • Retirement contracts
  • Membership qualifications
  • Compensation limits and how to report
  • Compensation reporting compliance
  • Pay schedule compliance
  • Employment certification
  • Independent contractors
  • CalPERS/CalSTRS election
  • Employer’s role in the retirement process
  • Post-retirement employment

How to Register

Registration is required and should be completed by Wednesday, September 3.

  • Log in to your myCalPERS business partner account.
  • Go to Education > Classes (Enroll in a Class).
  • Under Business Rules, register for all three classes scheduled that day:
    • Advanced Compensation
    • Advanced Membership
    • Business Rules for School Employers
