Mendocino County Office of Education will host a CalPERS Business Rules, Advanced Compensation, and Advanced Membership Training on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Southeast Room at 2240 Old River Road, Ukiah.
This full-day session is designed for staff who work in Payroll, Membership, or Human Resources, as well as anyone looking to deepen their understanding of CalPERS business rules. Participants will gain a holistic view of how to conduct business with CalPERS while following California’s current laws and regulations.
The workshop will explore key areas that impact school employers, including:
- Retirement contracts
- Membership qualifications
- Compensation limits and how to report
- Compensation reporting compliance
- Pay schedule compliance
- Employment certification
- Independent contractors
- CalPERS/CalSTRS election
- Employer’s role in the retirement process
- Post-retirement employment
How to Register
Registration is required and should be completed by Wednesday, September 3.
- Log in to your myCalPERS business partner account.
- Go to Education > Classes (Enroll in a Class).
- Under Business Rules, register for all three classes scheduled that day:
- Advanced Compensation
- Advanced Membership
- Business Rules for School Employers
