Why should kids get all the summer fun?
This June, MCOE invites educators to step away from the day-to-day and spend time learning outdoors, connecting with colleagues, and gathering ideas they can bring back to their classrooms at our 5th Annual 2.5 day STEAM Camp for Educators. Held at River’s Bend Retreat Center in Philo, the setting itself is part of the experience.
Participants will engage in hands-on NGSS-aligned activities while also having time to slow down. Free time options include hikes, river swimming, nature journaling, evening bonfires, and exploring Hendy Woods.
Highlights include:
- Inspiring Creativity & Curiosity
- Forest Walks & Nature Journaling
- Experiencing NGSS Best Practices
- Promoting Skills & Active Engagement
- Tinkering & Engineering Design
- Optional Swimming & Garden Exploration
Furnished cozy cabins with bathrooms and electricity, plus delicious meals, will elevate your summer camp experience.
The camp is limited to 40 educators. Priority is given to Mendocino County educators and CREEC North Nature’s Narrative participants and applicants.
