District Business Services

Provides fiscal oversight and support to districts and charters, including payroll, vendor payments, retirement reporting, and AB 1200 compliance. Offers training and technical assistance to help schools maintain strong fiscal health and sound business practices.

Internal Business Services

Handles payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, contracts, and audits for all MCOE programs. Oversees student data reporting, including CALPADS, ensuring accurate and transparent fiscal and data management that supports effective decision-making across the organization.

Maintenance & Operations

Ensures MCOE facilities are safe, clean, and functional to support student learning and staff effectiveness. Provides maintenance, custodial services, and operational support to keep schools and offices in compliance with safety standards and operating efficiently.

Payroll Services

Processes payroll for participating districts and charters, including payroll tax payments, PERS and STRS reporting, and W-2 processing. Provides workshops on payroll procedures and retirement laws to help schools remain accurate, compliant, and well informed.

Risk Management & Safety

Supports workplace safety through risk assessments, staff training, workers’ compensation management, and emergency preparedness. Promotes a culture of prevention and collaboration that protects MCOE employees and district partners while reducing risk.

Staywell for Districts

Operates the Staywell Joint Powers Authority, which provides employee health and welfare benefits to participating districts. By pooling resources, members access cost-effective insurance programs, expert plan management, and strategies that support staff wellness.

Technology

Delivers technology services and solutions to MCOE and county districts, including network and infrastructure support, desktop services, and hardware/software troubleshooting. Ensures reliable systems and innovative tools to keep schools and staff connected and effective.
